We worked with Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victoria to design and develop SmartSafe+ – a mobile phone app that supports women to collect evidence of family violence safely. It is designed to assist women to collect and store evidence to help them get an intervention order, or to prove a breach.
We worked through the security and privacy issues required to make sure that evidence was encrypted and secure in the cloud, but accessible if needed for court. The app was awarded the Inaugural Premier’s iAward for Public Sector Innovation.
We worked with the designers at Next Digital and Dairy Australia to provide 2 ‘next-gen’ apps for dairy farmers in Australia. The mastitis toolkit app provides all the calculators and information to help farmers manage mastitis control, and the body condition scoring app assists farmers in understanding, monitoring and managing their herds.
Our geeks developed and customised the StylePass platform for David Jones’ DJSTYLE+ app and website. The platform consists of and iOS App, Android App, and responsive website.
We migrated an old platform to new technology and seamlessly integrated with David Jones’ existing style portal. We also integrated with DJ’s large database of products and added an algorithm for smart, personalised recommendations.
Our geeks worked with digital strategist Next Digital to create the first Android version of the Melbourne Cricket Ground app in 2011. In just 2 months, the app was ready for the all important Boxing Day Test.
When the MCG needed to update the app for new facilities a year later, we consolidated the iOS and Android versions into one codebase for easy maintenance moving forward – as well as modernising the app with a face lift. As part of the project, we extended the Titanium framework with native code to provide one-of-a-kind map functionality within the App.
We developed installrapp.com to scratch our own itch. It makes distributing betas of iOS and Android apps easier for developers and testers. We jumped through technical hoops to setup a sync with the Apple Developer Portal – something no other service does.
We brought it to market in just 3 months – from idea to delivery.
We worked with the team at Kapish to provide mentoring and development services for their goTRIM app – A native HP TRIM app for iPad, iPhone, and Android. We provided best practice advice and native iOS modules to the Titanium framework to build a complete mobile document management solution including PDF editing and document sharing extensions.
We provided programming help on the Stocklight App during the final weeks of development for launch. Their team had done the majority of the work, but we provided advice and services to help get their Android app released at the same time as their iPhone app while ensuring they had one simple codebase for maintenance moving forward.
Jeff Bonnes from Geeks Inc. and his wife Delia Timms started FindABabysitter.com.au in 2004 and it quickly grew to the largest Nanny and Babysitting site in Australia. They sold the site to Fairfax in 2009 and we helped the Fairfax technical team integrate Find A Babysitter into the Fairfax infrastructure.
