This Week in Titanium Mobile Development: 10 Oct 2011

This is all the Titanium Mobile development news I’ve gathered from the Twittersphere and Interwebs for the past week.

News

PhoneGap creator Nitobi was acquired by Adobe. This big news in the ‘cross-platform’ app space. Appcelerator made a comment on their blog – they are happy about it.

Appcelerator has created a twitter account (@AppcMarketplace) to announce new products on their marketplace. They have posted a blog about the marketplace’s top sellers.

iOS5 is about to hit. Appcelerator will be address it with the upcoming 1.7.3 release.

Reminder: Appcelerator’s Twitter Client Library Contest ends on Thursday.

Appcelerator has implemented a new ‘universal search‘ on their development site that covers the developer blog, wiki, and Q&A sites. The best info about Titianum development is on the wiki so I’m glad this will be included.

All the videos for Codestrong have been posted. Protip: Vimeo + AppleTV.

Tips

I wrote up part 1 of a tutorial on accessing the Google Reader API in Appcelerator Titanium. More to come.

Tony Lukasavage has taken over Forging Titanium this week with a cookbook on Android Intents. If you don’t know what an Android Intent is, Tony will walk you through it and explain how to use them. Cool stuff.

Aaron Saunders has another quicky over at his blog. This time, it is accessing the new Twitter photo API using a modified version of birdhouse.js.

Dawson Toth has been up to his github goodness again with iOS Text Field Suggestions. So cool!

Apps

Here is the story of the development of How We Love Food.

Need to balance your dragon boat? Theres an app for that.

Handshake released Thought Full to quickly capture and recall your thoughts.
